National Regulations and Guidelines
ComReg Guidelines
- The Commission for Communications Regulation (ComReg) is the statutory body responsible
for the regulation of the electronic communications sector (telecommunications, radiocommunications
and broadcasting transmission) and the postal sector
- ComReg is therefore responsible for the regulation of amateur station licences.
ComReg’s Amateur Station Licence Guidelines sets out many of the
terms on which an amateur station must be operated – for example, the frequency bands,
operating modes and power limits as well as technical and engineering requirements
- These Guidelines form an important part of the Licensing Conditions section of
the exam Syllabus
- It is important to note that the Wireless Telegraphy Regulations and ComReg Guidelines
do not exempt the licensee from having to comply with any other statutory requirements
or obligations as may apply (for example, planning, safety etc.)
